Foundation for Belmont Education Youth Spelling Bee Saturday
The Foundation for Belmont Education will hold its 12th annual Youth Spelling Bee, on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Belmont High School.
More than 1,750 spellers have participated since the Bee began eleven years ago, making this event a favorite for Belmont students. It is an afternoon filled with spelling and fun for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The event is non-competitive for participants in kindergarten-fourth grade, while the fifth/sixth grade swarms are competitive, using the famous "two stingers before you're out" rules.
The Foundation for Belmont Education is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for the Belmont Public School System. Youth Spelling Bee events have raised almost $148,000 to benefit Belmont Public Schools.
