Belmont Dems in Markey's Corner, Holding Caucus Saturday
Democratic Town Committee will be electing members to the platform convention this weekend.
At its meeting on Feb. 28, the Belmont Democratic Town Committee voted to unanimously throw their endorsement to US Rep. Edward Markey in the upcoming special US Senate election in both the primary, to be held April 30 and the general election June 25.
The Belmont Committee also reviewed procedures for its upcoming caucus to elect members to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Platform Convention.
The caucus will be held Saturday, March 9, at Town Hall, in the Selectmen’s Room, beginning at 2 p.m. with registration from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The Committee also elected Russ Leino as a new full member and Rachel Sorenson, James Greene, Yvette Tenney as Associate Members.
