The Belmont High Girls Ice Hockey team's road to the state championships will take a bit of a detour today, Saturday, March 10, as the team's semi-final match with number one and undefeated Duxbury High School will be played 65 miles as the buzzard flies from their home rink on Concord Avenue.
The semis between the fifth-ranked Marauders (16-4-2) and the Dragons (20-0-1) will take place at Gallo Ice Area located adjacent to the Cape Cod Canal in Buzzards Bay.
The game will begin at 7:45 p.m., the second of the two semi-final matches with Westwood (which Belmont defeated earlier in the year) and Falmouth in the first game.

Belmont's playoff run includes a 5-4 overtime victory against Canton and a convincing 5-2 win against Norwood on Monday.
A Marauder victory will allow for a much shorter trip to the next game: the state finals at the TD Bank Boston Garden next Sunday.
