A goal by defender Olivia Lyons from fellow senior Julia Russo in the dying minutes gave Belmont High School Girls' Soccer a stunning 2-1 victory over undefeated and number-one ranked Amesbury High School Tuesday night to propel the Marauders into the Division II North Semifinals.

Belmont will play at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Manning Field in Lynn against Newburyport which defeated the Marauders, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of last year's MIAA tournament.

Lyons goal – coming just before 8:40 p.m. on a cold but clear night – came after host Amesbury tied the game midway through the second half after Charlotte Alexander gave Belmont the lead 10 minutes into the second half with a goal from a Russo corner kick.
