Belmont Media Center Airing Democratic Senate Debate
Viewers can see Elizabeth Warren and others from UMass - Lowell at 7 p.m. on the web, cable.
Political junkies: rejoice.
With the assistance of the Chelmsford Telemedia, the Belmont Media Center will be airing tonight's US Senate Democratic Primary Debate live from UMass – Lowell on Channel 96 for Comcast customers and Ch. 30 for Verizon viewers.
The debate begins at 7 p.m.
The center is also running a livestream of the debate on its Website.
The six candidates, looking to take on Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown next year, will come face-to-face tonight.
According to a UMass-Lowell/Boston Herald poll, voters are most interested in hearing more on the current economic situation and are divided on giving in-sate tuition rates to illegal immigrants.
Elizabeth Warren is currently 30 points ahead of her five challengers, the Boston Herald reports.
The debate features Wayland’s Tom Conroy, a state representative in his third term, Brookline’s Alan Khazei, co-founder of the nonprofit City Year, Marisa DeFranco, Bob Massie, Herb Robinson and Warren.
The Boston Herald/UMass-Lowell poll is also reporting that in a Brown versus Warren matchup, Brown leads by a close margin; 41 percent to 38 percent. 21 percent of voters do not know for who they would vote.
