Belmont Savings 'Cube' Scores $1,000 For Schools

Residents grab for the cash at Turkey Day game as schools win.

If you were one of the thousands who attended the annual Thanksgiving Day game between Belmont and Watertown at Harris Field, you may have encountered "The Cash Cube."

Enter the cube-shaped enclosure - that's why it's called "The Cash Cube" - and discover dollar bills on the floor. The idea is simple, get inside and grab all the ones you can. One catch: There's a current of air that is pumped into the enclosure, shooting the bills into the air. Now trying grabbing those singles.

Belmont Savings Bank gave participants a chance to get inside the bank's "Cash Cube" and win as much greenbacks as they could catch. Fans lined up all Thanksgiving morning with the chance to bring home more than frozen hands and noses from the game.

At the end of the game, Belmont Savings Bank matched the dollar amount won by fans and donated the funds, totaling $1,000, to the Belmont Public School system.  With Belmont winning the game, 28-13, it was a win, win, win for all involved.

Photos of fans in the "Cash Cube" and other Thanksgiving Day football festivities can be viewed on Belmont Savings' Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/BelmontSavingsBank.
