Belmont Schools Remain Closed on Tuesday
But some activities will take place later in the week including a late Halloween-theme concert.
Take another day off. Sandy says so.
For a second time, the effects of Hurricane Sandy will provide the 4,000 Belmont students another day away from the classroom.
"All Belmont Public Schools are closed Tuesday in order to clean up storm damage," said Dr. Thomas Kingston, Belmont's school superintendent, on the school's website.
But just because school is out, events will take place; if a bit later than originally scheduled.
The Belmont High School Orchestra and Wind Ensemble second annual Family Masquerade Concert will take place at the Chenery Middle School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The concert features Halloween-themed selections that are appropriate for children of all ages – and audience members are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the concert. Adding to the family-friendly nature of this concert is the fact that it will only be roughly one hour in length so that young ones can still get to bed on time.
And yes, it will take place the day after All Hallow's Eve but it does happen on All Saint's Night.
There is no admission charge for this concert.
