[UPDATE] Belmont Woman Missing from NH Ski Area
Melanie Chang Quinton last seen Sunday afternoon at Pats Peak ski area. Has a history of suddenly leaving the area.
HENNIKER, NH - Police in New Hampshire are searching for a Belmont woman who they say wandered away from the Pats Peak ski area over the weekend, according to a report from New Hamphire's WMUR, Channel 9.
Henniker NH police, along with New Hampshire Fish and Game officers are searching for and asking the public to help locate Melanie Chang Quinton of Belmont who was last seen about 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon while at Pats Peak with her husband and two children.
This is not the first time that Chang Quinton has left her home suddenly and has gone missing. According to press release and flyer (you can see the flyer on this webpage) distributed by the Belmont Police more than a year a half ago, Chang Quinton suffers from an undiagnosed illness associated with anxiety and has a history of wandering off to find a quiet place.
Belmont Police in October 2010 assisted her husband, Robert Quinton, in tracking her movements when she reportedly told him she was going camping in western Massachusetts. Her husband told police that she had left and been found in Vermont, Puerto Rico and Nova Scotia.
The Quinton's moved from Atlanta to Belmont in 2010.
The reports also says police don't suspect foul play but are concerned because she does not have identification, money, credit cards or a cell phone with her.
Anyone with information on Quinton's whereabouts is asked to contact Henniker police or the Merrimack County Sheriff's Department.
Belmont Patch will bring you more information as it becomes available.
