The latest installment of our Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest looks at where Belmont residents go to find the best in unique movie viewing.
While everyone one likes the big summer blockbuster film – with its noise and special effects – there are times when you want something entertaining in which the style and content run counter to the mainstream. The films with subtitles, with an alternative view of the world and just plain fun to watch. A feature film produced outside the major film studio system.
The question is: Where is the best place to watch independent films?
Here are a few of our favorite places, but if we’re forgetting yours, please let us know in the comments and we’ll add them to the list.
• Studio Cinema (Belmont)
• West Newton Cinema (Newton)
• Landmark Embassy Cinema (Waltham)
• Arlington Capitol Theatre (Arlington)
• Coolidge Corner Theatre (Brookline)
• Landmark Kendall Square Cinema (Cambridge)
Voting's open until 9 a.m. this Friday, May 25. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive reviews and comments posted below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.
Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. A winner will be determined by Patch editors, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Voting results posted in real time shall not be deemed official until Patch has reviewed and confirmed all of the votes.
