Blues, Soul Coming to Payson Park Festival Wednesday
Concert begins at 6:45 p.m. at playground.
The Payson Park Music Festival presents an incomparable blues and soul concert on Wednesday, July 11, with Boston's blues renaissance man, Eddie Scheer and his Smoken' Blues All Stars.
As the leader and front-man of The Love Dogs Scheer has traveled the US and Europe bringing the blues and R&B to fans everywhere. As a drummer he has played with virtually every blues artist from the Northeast, as well as several great New Orleans artists. And as an impresario Scheer has created and hosts Eddie Scheer's Tuesday Night All Stars, the wildly successful series at Smoken' Joe's in Brighton.
This Wednesday Scheer bringing some of the greats with him:
Professor Harp was voted "Outstanding Harmonica Player" in the 14th Annual Blues Audience Readers Poll 2011. Willie J. Laws Jr. has become a household name in New England, opening for famous artists such as B.B. King, Koko Taylor and Etta James. The trans-Atlantic all-star, Sir Cecil, beats the drum and sings a smooth tune as he has been capturing audiences even before his days in Someone’s Band! And last but not least, bassist extraordinaire Jesse Williams will accompany the Band.
The night's concert is being sponsored by Cambridge Trust Company.
