It's Pets Week at Belmont Savings

While it usually is focused on lending and deposits, this week will have a more 'pet'-centric appeal at its Belmont Center branch at 2 Leonard St. and on Facebook this week from Aug. 13 to 19.

Kicking the week off, pet lovers are encouraged to submit their favorite pet photos on the Bank’s Facebook page for a chance to win a grand prize. The photo with the most "likes" wins the contest.

The winning pets will receive a $100 gift card to the Belmont Pet Shop along with bragging rights. Additionally, the bank will donate $1 to the local animal shelter for every Facebook "like" they receive during the week. The Bank’s goal is to make a $500 contribution at the end of the week.

On Saturday, Aug. 18, customers will be able to participate in the Bank’s Pet Food Drive. From 9 a.m. to noon, Belmont Savings will be receiving donations of pet food. Everyone who participates will be entered for the chance to win a $100 gift card to the Belmont Pet Shop on Flett Road.

And on Saturday, a pet talent show will be held from 11 a.m. to noon in the main branch. Pets – and their owners – are encouraged to stop by and show off their pet’s talents to win a gift basket.

“Our pet week promises to give animal lovers a great opportunity to show off their favorite furry friend, win prizes and help several wonderful causes,” said Bob Mahoney, CEO and president of Belmont Savings Bank.

“I have mentioned this week’s festivities to my dog, and he indicated it all sounds like a lot of fun.”

Bob has had a long association with Greyhound Friends, one of the oldest and largest greyhound rescue groups in the country.
