Joey's Park, 2.0, Meeting Thursday

Friends regrouping for next phase of renovation of project.

Join the Friends of Joey’s Park on Thursday, Dec. 6 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Winn Brook Elementary School's cafeteria, for a kick-off meeting to begin the next phase of the Joey’s Park project.

Participants will review the progress the Friends have a made so far – in the design, community input, publicity and fundraising – and then talk about planning for the future. In September, to build the play space that will range from $250,000 to $350,000 and open in October 2013.

The group is restructuring the Joey’s Park committee to reflect the needs of the next phase which will include construction planning; sourcing materials and tools; organizing volunteers, food, and childcare; and of course, fundraising and publicity. The meeting will discuss the different roles and what it’s going to take to accomplish this massive community build.

At the meeting, the Friends will discuss all the roles at the meeting, but if anyone can’t make it to the meeting, the organizers will be happy to talk about the roles avaliable. Respond by Thursday, Dec. 6 to either Ellen (ellensch@verizon.net) or Diane (diane@millerdesignllc.com), or just come to the meeting.
