Joey's Park Fundraiser Set for Thursday

Residents seek to replace aging structure with a new playground.

The kickoff meeting of the Friends of Joey’s Park Committee will be on Thursday, Jan. 26, 7:30 p.m., in the cafeteria, 97 Waterhouse Road.

Joey's Park has been temporarily re-opened; however, the playground is at the end of its life and will need to be replaced in the near future, according to Wendy Conroy and Ellen Schreiber, Winn Brook PTA co-presidents.

The Friends of Joey's Park Committee will be made up of members of the Belmont community and appropriate officials with the goal of planning and building a new Joey’s Park.

Unlike many playgrounds at Belmont schools, Joey's Park is maintained by the town rather than the school department.

Those interested in the playground discussion and or joining the Friends of Joey's Park committee are invited to join fellow residents at the kickoff meeting.
