Meet Coda. You can't miss him: he's the puppy that most people would mistake for cattle. The white Great Dane is about a meter in height and has to step lightly as not to trample smaller breeds of canines.

But Coda is nothing but a big softy. He is a service dog for his owner who recently suffered a stroke, helping with mobility and maneuvering around town.

On Saturday, Coda and other dogs came to the Belmont Savings Bank main office on Leonard Street to participate in a puppy parade through Belmont Center.

From a German shepherd "pound" dog to tiny mixes and hunting breeds, the dogs gathered in the bank for a "meet and greet" before heading off onto Leonard Street for a collective "walkie." The parade actually picked up strangers along the route to bring back to the bank.

And twice, the group – resembling a canine variation of the Beatles on Abbey Road – crossed the street stopping both vehicle and human traffic.

The event was held by Belmont Savings to highlight Switch Saturday, in which the bank encouraged new customers to transfer their bank accounts through an innovative and streamlined process that would take 60 minutes or the bank would deposit $60 in their account.
