Not Much Snow Heading for Belmont

Only an inch of the white stuff by evening could make driving slick in and around Belmont.

You may need a broom rather than a shovel to clear the sidewalk and front steps today as Belmont will likely see just an inch of snow ending by evening, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS revoked a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Eastern Massachusetts last night and now predicts a light snow falling before 3 p.m. with the total daytime accumulation of less than one inch possible. The wind will pick up by the afternoon to 8 and 11 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Once the precipitation ends, Belmont will enter the freezer as the temperature falls to an expected low of 17 tonight with the wind holding steady at 15 mph for a wind chill temperature of 0.

Wet roads and below freezing temperatures will cause some roads to become slick to drive on.
