Sierra Club Endorse Rogers in Reps Race

Nation's oldest environmental organization backs Cambridge candidate.

The first major organizational endorsement in the 24th Middlesex state reps race goes to Dave Rogers as the Massachusetts chapter of the Sierra Club, the nation's largest and oldest grassroots environmental organization, has backed the Cambridge resident and Democrat candidate in the race to fill the vacant seat.

"Dave Rogers has a strong history of working to protect and preserve the
environment," said Phil Sego, the group's political chairman, in a joint press release with the Rogers campaign.

"I am deeply grateful for the Sierra Club's support and backing of my campaign.
They are tireless advocates for environmental issues I care deeply about," said
Rogers, in the release.

"Dave proved his commitment to finding and implementing innovative solutions to climate change through his work with the Environmental Protection Agency, prosecuting corporate polluters, and serving as senior management at a clean energy company designing software to reduce the electrical impact of large buildings," said Sego.
