With all the wrapping and paper, the remnants of the holiday meals, paper plates and recyclable plastics, Christmas has become one of the biggest trash and recycling days of the year.

And because the holiday was on Tuesday, some may believe that the town's garbage contractor will be coming to their street to take away what was left behind after the opening of presents.

But be forewarned: Because of the holiday, today, Wednesday, is seen as Tuesday in the world of trash collection. While you may be a day early putting out on the street your garbage, it will be standing outside when the next weather event –which will include gusty winds – comes through the area
