With more than two-and-a-half miles of trails that wind through deciduous and evergreen forests, across meadows, around a pair of ponds, and along a wetland containing a vernal pool, the Habitat's focal point is the visitor and nature center, a brick Georgian-style mansion where…

Sometimes the stress of the day – and afternoon and night – can be overwhelming; the endless e-mails, traffic, the little mishaps and family obligations.  So it's great to have places that you can go to for a touch of paradise: the local spa. And while Belmont doesn't have the number of locations as many surrounding towns, the four in town will have a spa treatment that can help you, even for an hour or two, to bring you back to a healthy equilibrium, refreshed in body and mind ... until, as least, the next day. 1. Skintelligent Face & Body Spa, 86 Leonard St. A full service salon located in …
It's one of the most famous houses in the "Town of Homes." Built during the first great expansion of residential properties in the 1850s, the house on Pleasant Street – one of the finest examples of early residential Victorian design – was a summer house for a rich Boston merchant. It was where the owner hosted his wealthy friends before, during and after the Civil War and was used as settings for one of the foremost painters and illustrators in 19th-century America. And for the past 80 years, the William Flagg Homer house overlooking Town Hall has been the home of the Belmont Women's Club, …
Belmont's historic Underwood Pool is located adjacent to the Belmont Public Library on Concord Avenue. The place for kids to cool off during the summer for the past 99 years, the Underwood Pool is the oldest community pool in the United States. But it is also the place that countless generations of Belmont children learned to swim, take their first steps off of diving board, purchase their first treat from an ice cream truck and have some fun! Relax poolside, swim, dive and a nearby playground. You couldn't ask for more!
Belmont has a well-earned reputation as a town of homes: single and two family homes filling every lot available. But less than half a mile from the busy town center are two places that have reintroducing quiet to Belmont. Off a cratered road leading up to the top of Belmont Hill is an opening in a stonewall that leads to a trail that sends walkers into a pair of hidden gems that few know exist. And they would not exist if it was not for the philanthropic gift from the Weeks family which owned the land for several generations before granted it to the Mass. Audubon's Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary…
