Brownsberger Office Hours, Lincoln at the Beech, Football Under the Lights

Events occurring in Belmont on Friday, Sept. 20.

1. Massachusetts State Sen. Will Brownsberger's Chief of Staff Barbara Miranda will hold office hours from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Beech Street Center, 266 Beech Street. Everyone is welcome to attend and to issues, ask for help in dealing with state agencies or talk about any other topic of concern. 

2. Well-loved local musician Liz Buchanan will be performing original songs and traditional favorites for youngsters and their parents at the Belmont Public Library's Flett Room beginning at 10:30 a.m. 

3. Goden and Slade streets will be where town contractor Insituform Technologies will be preforming sewer and drain relining. Be prepared for mass traffic constraints.

4. The Academy Award-winning “Lincoln” starring Daniel Day Lewis as the 16th President, will be shown at 12:45 p.m. at the Beech Street Center, 266 Beech St. It's free and anyone can attend.

5. Football is under the lights tonight as a young (18 sophomores and 1 freshman) Belmont High School Marauder team hosts Bedford High at Harris Field. Kick off is at 6 p.m. In addition, Girls' Volleyball and Girls' Swimming will be in competition starting at 4 p.m. in Wenner Field House.
