Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap at the Library, Hot Chocolate for Middleschoolers

Events occurring in Belmont Tuesday, Dec. 3.

• The Belmont Public Library give you a chance to share your holiday recipes and discover new ones with its annual Holiday Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the library's assembly room.  You do not have to be a baker to attend; everyone will be able to sample the treats and take home copies of recipes. Desserts must be meant to be served at room temperature. Please bring enough for at least 20 people to sample.  Please bring 20 copies of the recipe. All recipes will be posted at the library the next day. Bakers must register in advance on the library's website or by calling 617-993-2870.

State Rep. Dave Rogers will be holding office hours at the Beech Street Center, 266 Beech St., at 9:30 a.m. to discuss constituency issues and the coming legislative year.

• The Planning Board will hear for the third time from Broadway Electric on their proposal to place solar panels on the roof of the Wellington Elementary School at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room of Town Hall.

Attention Middleschoolers: Stop by the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., for some free hot chocolate and some space to do your homework.  This is for Chenery students (5th to 8th graders) only. 

• The Benton Library, Belmont's independent volunteer-run library, is holding its Pre-school Story Time at 10:30 a.m. There will be seasonal stories and crafts for children three to five. Siblings may attend with adults. Parents or caregivers must be present. Registration is not required. The Benton is located at the corner of Old Middlesex and Oakley.
