Enrichment is a Global Citizen, Opening Night for 'The King Stag' and 'The Mikado' and Meet Clark

Events occurring in Belmont on Thursday, Nov. 7.

1. The public is welcome to attend a free presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Flett Room of the Belmont Public Library on "Global Artists, Global Citizens," a year-long project started at the Belmont Afterschool Enrichment Collaborative with an after-school program in Namugongo, Uganda. The project creates cross-cultural relationships and understanding through the arts between the two after-school programs a world apart. 

2. Opening night of the Belmont High School Performing Arts Company's production of Carlo "The King Stag" takes place  at 7 p.m. in the Belmont High School auditorium. Tickets are $12 in advances, $10 for students and $15 at the door. Buy your tickets at TicketStage.com or at Champions Sports in Belmont Center.

3. The Youth, Chancel, and Junior Choirs of The First Church in Belmont, Universal Unitarian will give the first of four performances of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado." at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $12; Email requests are available as are web purchases (search for "Mikado."). Telephone orders can be obtained at 617-484-2149.

4. The Belmont and Watertown Democratic Town Committees invite voters and the public to meet State Sen. Katherine Clark, the Democratic nominee for the Massachusetts 5th Congressional District representative in the auditorium at Coolidge Apartments, 319 Arlington St., Watertown at 7 p.m. Clark is running to replace Ed Markey in Congress in the Dec. 10 Special Election. 

5. Infant Lapsit Storytime at the Belmont Public Library is for infants and pre-walkers. Come enjoy songs, finger plays and rhymes chosen especially for our littlest readers. The fun starts in the Flett Room at 10:30 a.m.
