Holiday Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap Next Week, Early Release for All Schools

Events occurring in Belmont on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

• The Belmont Public Library is hosting its annual Holiday Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the library's Assembly Room. Here's a chance to share your recipes and discover new ones. You do not have to be a baker to attend. Everyone will be able to sample the treats and take home copies of recipes. Bakers must register in advance by signing up online or by calling 617 993-2870.

• It's the final Early Release Wednesday ffor all of Belmont's six schools. The High School is getting out at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. for Chenery Middle School and 11:40 a.m. for elementary schools with the exception of the Winn Brook which releases at 10 minutes until noon.

• You know what else is closing early? The Belmont Public Library which is locking its doors at 5 p.m. So get your movies and books early today.

One-On-One Computer Tutoring with Richard Berger can be made for Thursdays as well as Mondays and Wednesday by appointment at the front desk of the Beech Street Center, 266 Beech St., at 617-993-2970. Ask specific questions, watch a demonstration, or review topics. A $10 donation to the Center would be appreciated.

• On this day in 1924, the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is held in New York City.
