Pool Price Tag to be Discussed, Grapplers Take on Watertown, It's National Pie Day

Events occurring in Belmont on Thursday, Jan. 23.

• One last time: the King holiday pushed back the trash collections one day so today is actually Wednesday in the garage pick-up universe.

• The Underwood Pool Building Committee will be discussing the design and a price tag for the new swimming complex at the site of the existing historic pool tonight at 7 p.m. in Conference Room 2 at Belmont Town Hall.

Paprika Kids at 404 Trapelo Road is holding a free Winter Arts & Craft Open Table for kids beginning at 10 a.m. Pick from a huge variety of snowflakes to cut and create at this Melissa & Doug A&C project. Paprika Kids will provide the materials for you to have fun.

• The Belmont High School Wrestling team is taking on traditional rivals Watertown High at 6 p.m. in the upper gym at the Wenner Field House.  

Today is National Pie Day which is sponsored by the American Pie Council, an organization committed to "preserving America's pie heritage and promotes America's love affair with the food." Today's celebration should not be confused with "Pi" Day which the U.S. Congress recognizes as March 14.
