Pool's Design Meeting, Breakfast Now at the Wellington, Mozart Died Today

Events occurring in Belmont on Thursday, Dec. 5.

• The Underwood Pool Building Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2 f Belmont Town Hall to discuss the two public meetings in November and how residents and committee members' ideas and concerns will impact the basic design of the pool. 

• Beginning this week, students attending the Wellington Elementary School can start their day with an in-school breakfast from 8:10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students can have bagels with cream cheese, granola bars, cereal, cinnamon rolls, egg & cheese on an English muffin, fresh fruit and milk. The prices for breakfast is $1.50 for full paid students, 30 cents for reduced and no cost for students on free-meal benefits. This initiative is part of a three-month trial period for Wellington. LEGO Club for kindergarten through third grade at 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library. Children in kindergarten through the third grade will be creating their own unique LEGO structures. All LEGOs are provided so all you'll need to bring is your imagination.

• Yoga tonight in Gardiner Hall at Plymouth Congregational Church at 582 Pleasant St. at 7:30 p.m. (Enter on Alexander Street). Taught by professionals in the Vinyasa style. Bring your own mat. All levels welcome. $10 per class. Free parking on Pleasant and behind the former Macy's. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.

• On this day in 1791, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dies in Vienna at age 35. Some still believe that Mozart's contemporary Antonio Salieri poisoned/tormented him to his death when it was just acute rheumatic fever. Here is a wonderful impression of Mozart's death from the great 1984 film, Amadeus.
