Stormwater Working Group Meeting, Free Art Classes at the Beech and 'Nevermore!'

Events occurring in Belmont on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

• The second meeting of the Belmont Stormwater Working Group will be meeting in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library beginning at 7 p.m. The Working Group was convened by Sustainable Belmont and the Belmont Citizens Forum "to find ways to increase green infrastructure in town, and to work with the Mystic River Watershed Association, Belmont and Arlington to find eligible green infrastructure sites" much like the rain garden at the Hardy School in Arlington.

• Catherine Tang, a talented Belmont High School senior, continues her popular free art class at the Beech Street Center from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Try your hand at one or more of a variety of media.

• Belmont Public Library's Storytime for 1's is for walkers and toddlers under the age of 24 months. Share simple stories, songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes and puppets. The fun gets underway at 10:30 a.m. in the library's in the library's Flett Room.

• The "Maraiders," the combined team made up of ice hockey skaters from Belmont and Watertown high schools, are back "home" at the Ryan Arena in Watertown to take on Lexington High School at 6 p.m. At the same time in the little gym at Belmont High School's Wenner Field House, the Belmont High School wrestling team will play host to the Lexington High Minutemen.
