Today is Last Day to Register for Congressional Primary, Belmont Historical Lecture

Events occurring on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Belmont.

1. You have until 8 p.m. to either register for the 5th US Congressional District special primary election for the 5th US Congressional District to fill the seat made vacant when Ed Markey became US Senator from Massachusetts or to change your party affiliation to either Democrat, Republican or Unenrolled as only residents who are registered as one of those three political entities. The primary is Oct. 15. Head over to the Town Clerk's Office.

2. The Belmont Historical Society will be holding a lecture from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library.

3. Story time for 1s is a great time for toddlers under 24 months. Share simple stories, songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes and puppets. From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Children's Room of the Belmont Public Library.

4. Duplicate Bridge Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Beech Street Center at 266 Beech St. Every Wednesday the club holds American Contact Bridge League-sanctioned games. All are welcome to play. Cost is $5. Phone: 339-223-6484 for more information.
