Trash Collection Still On, Late Openings Around Town, Babysitting Classes This Saturday at the Library

Events occurring in Belmont on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Despite receiving less than half of the expected foot of precipitation from the storm that came up the East Coast yesterday, the snow that fell in Belmont is causing inconveniences around town.

One service that is not cancelled is trash collection; curb side collection is on as scheduled, which due to the King holiday is already pushed back one day. So today is actually Tuesday in the world of garbage pickup.

• The parking ban due to the snow emergency will be in effect until 10 a.m. so don't park on Belmont's roads or use municipal lots until that time; you will get towed.

Town Offices will open at 10 a.m.

• The Belmont Public Library is also opening its doors at 10 a.m.

• The Belmont Public Library is holding a Babysitting Class this Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Flett Room. Learn the basics of babysitting. Students 10 years and older are eligible to sign up for the course. But register ASAP as this always popular class fills up quickly.
