Belmont Food Pantry Receives Donation as part of DPW Recycle Day

Belmont Savings Bank recently sponsored Belmont DPW Recycle Day as part of Belmont Public Works Department’s Public Works Day on Saturday, May 3.

DPW’s Public Works Day took place at the DPW Yard, giving Belmont families an opportunity to explore the facilities. During DPW Recycle Day, residents were encouraged to bring their paper for secure shredding as well as recycle their unneeded textiles, rigid plastics and Styrofoam. The Belmont Savings-PROSHRED recycling drive was part of the first Belmont Clean and Green Weekend, a collaboration between the Town of Belmont, Sustainable Belmont and Belmont PTA/PTO Green Alliance.

As a result of the day, the Bank announced the shredding of 2,500 pounds of paper as part of Belmont Recycle Day, which they sponsored alongside PROSHRED. Additionally, the event also raised $350 for Belmont Food Pantry.
