Belmont's Bob Mahoney Nominated for Most-Admired CEO Award

Belmont Savings Bank today announced that President and CEO Bob Mahoney is among the four executives selected by Boston Business Journal as the “most-admired CEOs for a small or mid-sized company.” In addition to this honor, voters will have until February 6 to vote in an online BBJ readers-choice poll.  (To vote, click here.)

"I am honored by this nomination. In particular, it represents an acknowledgement of the great work done by my colleagues and our partners on behalf of our growing customer base at Belmont Savings. They are the ones who have transformed this bank over the past three years,” said Mahoney. “This is also a recognition that people are looking for a bank which offers the products and services of a larger institution but delivers them locally with a true commitment to service and community support.”

Mahoney is the only banking executive recognized during this year’s award process.

As part of its 4th annual “Most Admired Companies, CEOs and Brands” Boston Business Journal readers were asked to nominate the most respected CEOs and most admired companies across several categories. Mahoney and the other winners will be honored at a breakfast at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on Friday, February 14, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. As part of his selection as one of the “most-admired CEOs for a small or mid-sized company,” Mahoney is a readers-choice finalist, with a readers-choice to be voted online and then announced during the event.

Mahoney also noted the creation of the Belmont Savings Bank Foundation, which has become a financial partner to many local non-profit groups, institutions, and schools operating within the communities where the bank operates has permitted Belmont Savings to make an impact in the marketplace.
