On February 9th from 5-8 p.m. at www.mod-ren.com Karenna Maraj will be one of the local artists to show and sell her artwork
Her studio and shop located in Belmont,MA and we ask her to answer on some questions for our readers
1.Karenna, we know that you have a successful business "Karenna Maraj Jewelry Collection', please tell our readers some about that
The shop features many talented local artists that hand make unique and exceptional jewelry in all price ranges. Many artists are up and comers and you will not be able to find their work any where else. Also in the gallery I offer repairs, wedding & bridal jewelry and custom design. I can work with any budget and make designs with either fashion or fine jewelry. The on location jewelry classes range from beading class to advanced metalsmithing.
2. This is will be your first time workshop and exhibit at the Museum of Modern Renaissance, did you ever been there before?
I had never been to the Museum before. But I was very impressed by the great
room and really fell in love with the bright and and colorful
3. Why you decided to be a jeweler?
I have always been passionate about different types of art and enjoyed
working with my hands. I also enjoy building and constructing things, so jewelry
seemed like it would be the perfect fit for me. Once I started, there was no
4.What materials you're prefer to work with and why?
I enjoy working with silver and gold. I have worked with silver since the
beginning, so I'm very confident with the characteristics of the metal. And I
have a great appreciation for the way that gold can be worked and crafted with
its own special properties.
5. Where do you teach?
I teach in my Shop, Karenna Maraj Jewelry Collection, and also at the
Arlington Center for the Arts and Brookline Art Centers.
6.What is your biggest dream?
I really enjoy working on my own line of production jewelry. In the future I
hope to create more of my own work.
7.What is your future plans?
Right now I really enjoying exactly what I'm doing, and I'm not sure where
the future will take me.
8.What else you'd like to do?
I would like to be the go-to-shop for gifts and special jewelry in the Boston area.
