5 Things: Teen Techs Ready to Help You, Remembering Rembrandt

Events happening in Belmont on Monday, July 15.

1. Belmont High School's Teen Techs are students who are available to help patrons of the Belmont Public Library with e-readers, accessing the digital catalog, basic Internet help, how to make Facebook work better and more fun stuff. One hour individual one-on-one sessions start from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesday in July. Registration is required, and is available online or by calling 617-993-2870. 

2. Insituform Technologies will be performing sewer and street drain work along Trapelo Road. Be prepared for the roadway to be narrow in areas.

3. Got a gripe about town services, a complaint or a compliment for a town department? Your chance to be hear happens at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall when the Belmont Board of Selectmen opens its meeting with public comment time.

4. Summer is here and with it comes a spike in electrical usage.Belmont Light has a few tips on saving energy consumption over the heat of the next few months: one is to use a microwave to cook; it uses less energy than a stove or oven and will add less heat to the kitchen.

5. On this day in 1606, Dutch painter Rembrandt is born in Leiden. His masterpiece, "Christ in the Storm on the Lake of Galilee," remains missing after being stolen from the Isabella Gardner Museum on March 18, 1990.
