A Taste of Cuba At Belmont's Farmers Market

Belmont Street's Gustazo Cuban Restaurant and Cafe will have a tasting today.

Belmont Farmers Market will break the travel embargo as Gustazo Cuban Restaurant and Cafe on 289 Belmont St. will hold a tasting from 2 p.m. to 3 pm.

Gustazo is a rare find in the Boston area, as one of the few restaurants offering authentic Cuban cuisine.

The Belmont Farmers Market is held from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Claflin Street Parking Lot in Belmont Center.

Along with the regular vendors on Market Day, Turtle Creek Winery, Wild Acre Inns (herbs, plants, produce, flowers), Sfolia Baking Company (Italian cookies and crackers), Soluna GardenFarm (herb, spice, and tea blends), Nobscot Artisan Cheese will be back

Over in the Events Tent, Boston-based singer/songwriter Dan Glenn will be performing from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In 2006, he released his first album, Burning For Music. He has performed at various venues, including the historic Club Passim in Cambridge and the Radio Bean in Burlington, Vermont. Dan is now working on recording a new album of material titled You Dream of Kingdoms. Dan’s influences include Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Dave Matthews.

Kids' Storytime is at 3:15 p.m. in the Events Tent: Denise Shaver from the Belmont Public Library reads to preschoolers about farms and food.

As always, please bring nonperishables to the Market tent every week for the Belmont Food Pantry.
