Belmont Light Asking Customers to Cool Electrical Use

Electrical demand is causing stress on power supply.

Officials from the Belmont Municipal Light Department, the town-owned electrical utility, is informing the public that it  is currently experiencing very high power demand and expects that to last through Saturday, July 20.

Belmont Light is asking customers to turn off non-critical electrical equipment, raise thermostat levels and put off laundry and other chores requiring electricity until the early morning or late evening hours to minimize extended power outages.

Residents with further questions should contact Belmont Light at 617-993-2800.
