Belmont Under Hazardous Weather Outlook This Afternoon

Isolated thundershowers, possibly severe and strong, could strike this afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook this morning, Tuesday, July 2, for Belmont and most of eastern Massachusetts indicating that isolated thunderstorms – including some that could be strong and severe – could lead to locally heavy rainfall of up to a quarter-of-an-inch which could lead to poor-drainage area through tonight. 

The NWS said that scattered showers and thunderstorms should occur before 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.
