Boys' Soccer: Marauders Sink Dracut, 2-0, To Meet Top-Ranked N. Andover Wednesday

Ben Lazenby and Michael Chertkov score to give Belmont the win.

A pair of goals four minutes apart midway though the second half propelled Belmont High School Boys' Soccer into the quarter finals of the Division 2 North sectional tournament after they defeated Dracut High School, 2-0, before an enthusiastic crowd of frozen supporters at Belmont's Harris Field Monday night, Nov. 4.

Junior Midfielder Ben Lazenby's shot from 15 meters out wrong-footed Dracut's senior goalkeeper Ryan Fisher and settled into the right side of the net seconds after the 20 minute mark to give Belmont the advantage after a physical hour of play with the Middies.

The Marauders' lead was doubled just before the 16 minute remaining mark when Belmont's go-to senior forward Michael Chertkov powered a header by Fisher from five meters after a precise centering pass from fellow senior Kingston Lockwood.
