Brotherly Love: Author George Howe Colt at Belmont Public Library for Lunch
Talk will begin at 11 a.m.
Award-winning author George Howe Colt will speak on his book Brothers: George Howe Colt on His Brothers and Brothers in History at a matinee of "Books and Bites" today, Monday, Nov 18 at 11 a.m. in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library.
The winner of the 2013 Massachusetts Book Award for Nonfiction, Brothers is an engaging memoir about four brothers growing up in suburbia. Interspersed with Colt's personal story are tales of famous brothers in history, including John and Henry David Thoreau, Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, Vincent and Theo van Gogh, and the Marx Brothers.
Colt is also the author of the bestseller The Big House: A Century in the Life of an American Summer Home, which was a finalist for the 2003 National Book Award in Nonfiction and a New York Times notable book of the year.

He lives with his wife, the writer and noted editor Anne Fadiman, and their two children in western Massachusetts.
All are welcome to attend this free program. Refreshments will be provided. Books will be available for sale and signing.
