Detour: Road and Infrastructure Work Begins In Earnest This Week

Town-financed road reconstruction begins around Waverley Square.

The first week in September is not only when summer ends and school begins, it's also the start of the fall road construction season. And beginning this week, Belmont will see an mark increase in road crews ripping up pavement across town, especially just outside Waverley Square.

As with all roadwork, drivers can expect delays or detours until the projects are completed.

This year's town-financed road reconstruction and paving project begins in earnest as E. H. Perkins Construction brings its street-shredding equipment to the following streets and byways:

• White Street (Trapelo Road to Grant Avenue)
• Grant Avenue
• A Street
• B Street
• C Street
• Hawthorne Street
• Cambridge Street
• Davis Road
• Harris Street
• Irving Street

While that work is going on, crews will be performing sewer and drain repairs this week in two locations on the other side of town:

• Park Road
• Hamilton Road
