Penultimate Market Day Brings Autumn Produce to the Fore

In the Belmont Center parking lot from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Is the Belmont Farmers Market actually coming to a close in one week? It seems just recently that Market Days opened for the season on a cool and misty afternoon.

It may be late in the growing year, especially in New England, but shoppers will discover plenty of produce and fruit in season: apples, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celeriac, celery, garlic, herbs, kale, leeks, lettuce, melons, onions, parsley, parsnips, pears, potatoes, pumpkins, raspberries, rutabagas, spinach, swiss chard, turnips and winter squash.

This week's occasional vendors are Coastal VineyardsCoutts Specialty FoodsSara Ran Away with the Spoon and Underwood Greenhouses join the regular vendors from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Belmont Center parking lot on Claflin Road.
