Real Estate Taxes, School Bus Fees Due Today

And you don't have to leave your computer to pay.

In a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy, Ben Franklin said that "in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."

And in Belmont, taxes don't take the summer off.

Real estate and personal property taxes for the first quarter of the new fiscal year are due in the Belmont Treasurer's Office by 4 p.m. today, Aug. 1. After today, taxpayers could find themselves facing a late fee.

Residents can head to the Treasurer's Office on the first floor of the Homer Building in the Town Hall complex in Belmont Center or drop off the payment in the bill box out in front of the building.

Or just stay home. The Town of Belmont’s website at BelmontMA.billtrust.com will allow residents make an online payment or to sign up for paperless billing.

If you need assistance, please call 617-993-2770.

In addition to real estate classes, the first half of the school bus transportation fee is due today, Aug. 1. Like the town's payment, you can do so online here.
