The Art of Giving: Red Cross Blood Drive Today at Town Hall Art Gallery

Donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third floor of the Homer Building.

If you come to the Belmont Gallery of Art today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., not only will you be able to see the installation by artist Lee Strasburger, "Anatomy of Melancholy," you can help save a life.

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive in the Gallery located on the third floor of the Homer Building in the Town Hall complex located at 19 Moore St.

Donors will receive a free collectable Red Sox T-shirt and a voucher good for two great offers from Monro Muffler/Brake Service.

The Red Cross' Massachusetts branch is seeking donations to meet expected patient demand after a summer where regular donors have been on vacation or been busy with summer activities.

As for the seemingly strange location for a donation center, the Gallery is regularly used by the Red Cross as its large central room has enough space to allow two to three beds to be located.
