An Uncommon Store Puts Out Its Wares Saturday

Saturday sidewalk sale by partners of business co-op in Cushing Square.

Uncommon Finds is an uncommon type of business.

The storefront at 432 Common St. in Cushing Square may appear to be a single business but in reality it is a sort of cooperative of nine small enterprises that all sell from the address most people will remember as the location of Delanjian Rugs.

And while Delanjian's continues to sell a smaller selection rugs and other oriental goods, the other entrepreneurs present their wares in spaces around the store – an eclectic variety of chairs, jewelry, antiques, home decor and, as one customer describes it "other intriguing things."

"It is an interesting concept with ever changing merchandise that reflects the different personalities of the vendors," said Christine Delanjian who owns the site.

"The feedback from our customers has been very positive," she said.

And today, Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the businesses will hold a huge sale on the sidewalk outside the Cushing Square store.

This will be a special event for the businesses that use UnCommon Finds offering extra goods they don't always carry in the shop including many one-of-a-kind items brought in especially for the sidewalk sale.

"The sidewalk sale should be fun," said Delanjian.
