Belmont Savings to Close Cushing Square Branch in Consolidation Move

Date for closing Trapelo Road branch in January 2014.

Belmont Savings Bank announced yesterday, Wednesday, Oct. 16, that it is closing its Cushing Square branch in January, 2014.

“The decision to close the Cushing Square branch was a practical one, given its close proximity to two other full service Belmont Savings Bank branches," said Robert Mahoney, Belmont Savings' president and CEO.

The bank noted in its press release that it expects no disruption in service and that, for the convenience of its customers, all accounts will be automatically transferred to the 277 Trapelo Rd. branch (across from CVS) located less than half-a-mile away.

"This change will allow us to continue to offer great service, competitive products and pursue our growth strategy which includes new markets. Belmont Savings remains committed to serving the residents and businesses in Belmont for years to come,” said Mahoney.
