Report: Brigham’s Closing After 80 Years

The Trapelo Rd. landmark will soon shut down.

The Boston Globe is reporting that on Trapelo Rd. has seen its lease expire and will be closing this week. 

The establishment is co-owned by John Mercer and Steven Kupelnick. Mercer told the Globe that business is sluggish and that they were unsuccessful in attempts to sell the business.

According to the Globe, the originally opened in 1932 and survived a wave of closings brought about following the sale of Brigham’s to Deal Metrics LLC in 2008. Between 10 and 12 employees will be unemployed after the Belmont closure, the article reports.

The also owned by Kupelnick and Mercer, will remain open, the Globe reports.
