5 Things: Pinatas at Paprika and Tennis at the Courts

Events occurring in Belmont on Thursday, May 16.

1. The monthly book discussion group for fifth and sixth graders from the Chenery Middle School will take place at the Belmont Public Library's Flett Room (across from the Children's Room) from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.

2. Paprika Kids, at 404 Trapelo Rd., is following up on its Cinco de Mayo celebration by teaching children how to make and decorate a pinata from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Every kid will take a small pinata home. Recommended for children between 6 to 10. Sin  up for this event is required.617-993-3431

3. The Belmont High School Boys' Tennis team will conclude their home season at 3:30 p.m. at the High School courts vs. Woburn High School.

4. Yoga tonight in Gardiner Hall at Plymouth Congregational Church at 582 Pleasant St. at 7 p.m. (Enter on Alexander Street). Taught by professionals in the Vinyasa style.  Bring your own mat.  All levels welcome. $10 per class. Free parking on Pleasant, Leonard and behind Macy's. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.

5. On this day in 1906, Margret Elizabeth Rey, who with her husband, H. A. Rey, co-authored the Curious George series, is born.
