5 Things You Need to Know Today: December 12

Bandarama, hockey season starts and storytime for the ones in onesies.

1. Bandarama: it can't be described, it can only be experienced. Tonight beginning at 7 p.m., the floor of the Wenner Field House (the Belmont High School's gym) will be jam packed with approximately 450 student band muscians from fourth and fifth graders to High School seniors in the 41st annual event.

2. Drop the puck, it's time to go! Belmont High School hockey teams begin their seasons taking on arch rivals Watertown High at Watertown's Ryan Skating Arena (next to Russo's). The Girls' start at 4 p.m. and the Boys' at 7 p.m. Remember: support Operation American Soldier by dropping off supplies before the game.

3. From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Belmont Public Library's Flett Room across from the Children's Room, Storytime for 1's will be held. The program shares simple stories, songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and puppets for walkers and toddlers under 24 months.
