5 Things You Need to Know Today: November 14

Girls' Soccer in state semifinals, early release, hot chocolate for middle schoolers, sing-a-long!

1. The Belmont High School Girls' Soccer team takes on undefeated Medfield High in the State Division 2 semi-finals today at 5:30 p.m. at Braintree High School. Give yourself enough time to get there as rush hour traffic heading towards the South Shore is always a mess.

2. It's an early release day for students in the Belmont Schools, as each Wednesday in November is a half day which allows teachers and staff to commit to training and education development.

2. And talking about early release, all Chenery Middle School students are invited to bring their homework and stop by the Belmont Public Library's Assembly Room, to enjoy some free hot chocolate from 11 a.m. to noon. This is for grades five through eight only. You high schoolers go to Starbucks.
