Concord Ave. Reopens After Hydrant Repaired, A Forewarning Of Monday's Major Disruption

A Belmont Department of Public Works crew repaired a leaking fire hydrant near the Belmont Public Library on Concord Avenue this morning which caused the roadway to be reduced to one lane each way until noon.

The roadwork on this portion of Concord is a harbinger to what is coming to a portion of the avenue in Belmont Center on Monday, Sept. 30.

Belmont Police has issued a traffic advisory reporting that Concord Avenue between Leonard to Pleasant streets will be closed for 12 hours beginning at 5 a.m.

Belmont Police said that back ups along Pleasant Street could stretch from The Center to the Route 2 ramps.

Police are advising residents to rethink traveling through Belmont Center during the morning and afternoon commutes.
