Christmas, Midnight Services in Belmont

List of celebrations on Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Christmas services both today, Christmas Eve, and tomorrow, abound in Belmont this holiday season in the town's Christian communities. 

Belmont United Methodist Church, 421 Common St., at 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, there will be a candlight service, featuring special music, Christmas carols and readings telling the story of Christ's birth.

Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant St, at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, there will be a family-friendly service in the sanctuary featuring the Beacon Brass Quintet. The one-hour service will include the opportunity for families to participate in the singing of Christmas carols, making music and the preparation of the miniature Nativity scene.

The traditional Christmas Eve service will be held starting at 11 p.m. and concluding at midnight. At 11 p.m. the Candlelight Service will begin featuring a trumpet trio along with the church choir and organ in a service of lessons and carols.

All Saints Episcopal Church, 17 Clark St., Christmas Eve at 5 p.m., the Christ Mass will take place. The service features special musical offerings by the Adult and Youth Choir. During the sermon time the children will go out for their own special Christmas homily. On Christmas, Dec. 25, a Holy Eucharist service - but without music - will being at 10 a.m. 

Cornerstone Baptist Church, 54 Brighton St., will be holding New Year's Eve Services, Monday, Dec. 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that will include a buffet dinner.

First Armenian Church, 380 Concord Ave., will hold a Family Service on Friday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. with its sister church, the Armenian Memorial Church of Watertown.

, 404 Concord Ave., will hold four services Friday, Dec. 24:

2 p.m. Junior Choir; Lessons and Carols, Pageant

4 p.m. Chancel Choir; Lessons and Carols, Pageant

6 p.m. Youth Choir; Lessons, Carols, Pageant

11 p.m. Alumni Choir; Lessons and Carols, Pageant

On Christmas, Dec. 25, there is a 10:30 a.m. worship service and brunch.

St. Luke's Parish, 132 Lexington St., will hold services on Friday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and a Family Mass at 5:30 p.m. On Christmas, Dec. 25, services will take place at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Saint Joseph Parish, 130 Common St. On Friday, Dec. 24, there will be a children's choir service in the parish hall and an adult choir service in the main church both at 4:30 p.m. and a midnight service at the church beginning at 11 p.m. On Christmas, Dec. 25, mass will be held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
