Photo Gallery: Homes for the Holiday

Belmont Garden Club's inaugural holiday house tour in photos and video.

Five Belmont homes became holiday showcases on Saturday, Dec. 8 as the Belmont Garden Club held its first "Deck the Halls" Holiday House Tour.

Groups and individuals put on booties, took off shoes or carefully wiped their wet feet on a wet weekend as they toured the houses decorated for the holidays with the help of the homeowners and volunteers from the Garden Club.

Below is a letter from “Deck the Halls” Co-chairman Sue Kelleher:

The Belmont Garden Club would like to thank all who made the Dec. 8 house tour “Deck the Halls” a success.

First and foremost, we are grateful to the five home owners who opened their homes and to the teams of Belmont Garden Club designers who decorated the homes so beautifully.

Others who lent support were the Town’s DPW, Pemberton Farm and Gardens, the Belmont Lions Club, Belmont Country Club, Boston College Alumni House, Lawndale Real Estate and Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Belmont Patch and other news outlets, stores and shops that posted our event and Savinos Restaurant. We are most grateful to the hundreds of patrons who bought tickets and attended the house tour.

Proceeds from the tour are used for Belmont Garden Club community educational and beautification projects and scholarship programs. Our most recent projects supported by the tour include a significant donation to the Town to help replace trees lost during Super Storm Sandy and a free workshop for Beech Street Center participants to make holiday arrangements.

We are most appreciative of all who helped in small and large ways to make the tour a success.
