The latest installment of our Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest is all about the first great barbeque day on the calendar: Memorial Day.
That is the time to drag out the old-school grill – i.e. charcoal and lighter fluid, thank you – or polish off the state-of-the-art propane grillmaster and officially begin the four months you can smoke (or burn) your food outdoors.
But what to put on the grill? Many times you ask yourself, "Self, where can I get something first rate to put on to BBQ?"
So here is your chance to tell Belmont cooks at the ready with spatula, tongs and spearing fork where to find the best "grill-ables" around town.
Here are a few places to get the conversation started. If you have a place, tell us: it will be added to our poll.
• Meat Spot (Mt. Auburn St., Watertown)
• The Meat House (Mass. Ave., Arlington)
• Whole Foods (Fresh Pond)
• DePasquale's in the Lake (Newton)
• McKinnon's Meat Market (Davis Square, Somerville)
• New Boston Meat in Newmarket Square in Roxbury (don't knock the distance.)
• Russo & Sons in Watertown (who said you only can grill meat?)
• Wilson's Farm (see above)
Voting's open until 9 a.m. this Friday, May 18. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive reviews and comments posted below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.
Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. A winner will be determined by Patch editors, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Voting results posted in real time shall not be deemed official until Patch has reviewed and confirmed all of the votes.
